a.  No, there is a 1.6 km drive which is easily navigated when driving slowly in any hired vehicle. Remember there is a 15 km per hour speed limit and please watch out for tortoises and other bigger animals!

b.  Please make sure the gate closes behind you

How long does it take to get to Carnarvon Dale from the Port Elizabeth airport?

a.  About 55 minutes (if you don’t stop at Nanaga Farm Stall for their world- famous pies!). It’s a short drive onto the national road (N2) from the airport, make sure you are on the N2 toward Grahamstown.

What should I pack?

  • Sun block
  • Warm jacket for the evenings
  • Camera
  • Sun glasses
  • Hat
  • Insect repellent (although we are malari free)

How long are the game drives?

This often depends on the weather, but you can bank on a 3 hour drive

Is it safe for small children?

The lodge is situated on the non-dangerous game section of the reserve. This is, however, Africa – there are snakes and spiders around, and caution should always be shown

Is there a shop around?

No, there are, however, Curio shops at neighbouring lodges. Water and other beverages are included in your stay.

Do you have power?

Yes, the lodges have power as well as back up generators. Plugs are South African but we do provide UK plug adaptors.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
