Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth to Grahamstown. 80 kilometres from the Port Elizabeth airport, turn left at the clearly signposted entrance to Carnarvon Dale. Press the button marked ‘Carnarvon Dale’ at the front gate to open. Drive for 1.6 kilometres to the lodge which is through the white gateway.

a. No, there is a 1.6 km drive which is easily navigated when driving slowly in any hired vehicle. Remember there is a 15 km per hour speed limit and please watch out for tortoises and other bigger animals!

a. About 55 minutes (if you don’t stop at Nanaga Farm Stall for their world- famous pies!). It’s a short drive onto the national road (N2) from the airport, make sure you are on the N2 toward Grahamstown.

The lodge is situated on the non-dangerous game section of the reserve. This is, however, Africa – there are snakes and spiders around, and caution should always be shown
No, there are, however, Curio shops at neighbouring lodges. Water and other beverages are included in your stay.
Yes, the lodges have power as well as back up generators. Plugs are South African but we do provide UK plug adaptors.
